Keynote Speaker: Dr. Stan Skinner
A Board certified neurologist and clinical neurophysiologist, Dr. Skinner has been involved in IONM for 25 years. He is currently the Director of IONM at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis, MN. He is a Fellow of the American Clinical Neurophysiological Society (ACNS) and the American Society of Neurophysiological Monitoring (ASNM). He is Associate Editor of the Journal of Clinical Monitoring and Computing.
Dr. Skinner attended medical school at the Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, MO and obtained his MD in 1976. He then completed his residency in Neurology and his fellowship in Clinical Neurophysiology at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis, MN in 1985. His primary IONM research interests have been: the use of EMG, the application of Bayesian probability to explain false reporting, the investigation of improved methods to monitor lower spine/pelvic surgery, introduction of new options to explore and clarify the evidence base, and definition/examination of IONM models of care.
